Working in a team in either Social Care Long Term, under the supervision of the Senior Social Worker, the post holder will work closely with children and families to provide key elements of social work which complement and support the full range of services provided.
The post holder will perform defined pieces of work under the direction of a qualified Social Worker who will have assessed each case and decided what services are required, which will include individual pieces of direct work with children and young people. The cases may include family support, child protection, children in need and children looked after.
The Social Work Assistant will typically be working with different people as part of a plan set by a Social Worker who will have assessed the case and decided what interventions are required.
