Responsibilities and Duties

  • Being responsible for the care and support of Service Users based on outcomes focussed and person centred care plans and risk assessments, in accordance with National Care Standards and as directed by the Purchaser’s line manager;
  • To take on keyworker responsibilities for Service Users;
  • Attending to Service User needs as directed by the Purchaser – including personal care needs as set out in

    Schedule 1 of the Community Care and Health (Scotland) Act 2002;

  • Ensuring general welfare and safety of Service Users and report back to the line manager any concerns to

    meet the requirements of Service Users support and protection;

  • Assisting Service Users with prescribed medication with regard to the Purchaser’s policies and

    procedures; and recording this appropriately;

  • Consulting with Service Users in order to provide a range of social, recreational and educational activities

    to meet their individual needs;

  • Assisting and enabling Service Users of varying abilities to participate in activities in accordance with

    their risk assessment and care planning documents;

  • Assisting with general duties associated with the Assignment, as directed by the Purchaser’s line

    manager;

  • Participating in escort duties as directed by the Purchaser;
  • Actively promoting and ensuring Good Social Care Practice takes place during the Assignment;
  • Providing support in meeting social, spiritual and emotional needs of Service Users.

Qualifications and Skills

SVQ3 In Care or equivalent

Rate of Pay

£9 - £17 p/h
